Why we created this assessment
At The Athlete’s Mental Blueprint, we work with athletes across sports and competitive levels. One pattern shows up consistently: as competition becomes more demanding, athletes often experience changes in focus, confidence, and emotional control that have nothing to do with effort or talent.
Mental skills influence how athletes respond to pressure, expectations, and setbacks. Like physical skills, these mental skills develop over time and can be trained intentionally.
We created this short assessment to help parents better understand how their child currently experiences competition, which mental skills are already supporting them, and which ones tend to matter most as pressure increases. It is designed to provide clarity and context, not judgment or labels.
